"So listening to famous people describe the secret of their success is about as helpful as listening to microwaved popcorn. In most cases they have no idea why they became successful, and they’re too embarrassed or egotistical to admit that it was a product of luck and well-timed blow jobs. The fact is that most musicians toil in obscurity, even the ones who keep pushing and striving until they collapse in a heap. If your “dreams” are to be universally acknowledged as a groundbreaking auteur, may I humbly suggest that realizing those dreams is about as likely as learning to fart rainbows. That’s not to say that there aren’t a thousand ways to have a rewarding and spectacular career in music, but almost every kid I meet has the same short list of goals: blow everyone’s mind, reinvent music, then show up to their high-school reunion riding a gold-plated unicorn."
John Roderick in a Seattle Weekly column. John seems like the guy I would kill to just be around. I can see why Merlin likes him so much. That podcast is quickly becoming my favourite podcast.

Yesterday, the Danish national paper Politiken reviewed my podcast. That’s me in the picture.
Just above the TV listings. In the culture section. The review is very kind and mom’s pretty proud.
Merry Christmas world.
Reddit: Now that I think about it, I think me and my friends were hippies my sophomore year of high school…
Greg (with the guitar) went on to play in a number of local bands around town. now in his 30s he plays mostly weddings and bar mitzvahs. Cooper (in the hat) founded an internet startup selling snowboarding gear and now divides his time between Tahoe and Vail. Ashlee (in glasses) went to art school where she wrote poetry and eventually married a female artist friend and lives in NM. She still regrets never telling her best friend in HS that she loved her. Liz (in yellow) went from one abusive boyfriend to the next, getting into coke and later heroin. she was last seen living in her boyfriends van in LA supporting her habit doing tricks. Ashleigh (sunglasses) went on to get her MBA and now is an analyst at Goldman Sachs.
No one knew the girl under the sleeper.
